Chapter 9

School, College

I passed the High School Proficiency examination in 11th grade, but stayed in school. I took music at Cerritos College, and then started teaching Guitar at Gahr High School. They actually gave me my own classroom for crying out loud! I thought it was so cool to hang out in the teacher's lounge, why... I don't know. I had a full class, about 35 students...was anyone you know in that class? I remember some students didn't take me serious because I was their same age... Let me give you an example. Do you remember "pink slips", well Doug Longoria was in my class... he kept screwing around, so I gave him a pink slip. What I didn't know was that, 1 more pink slip was gonna get him kicked out of school. I think I withdrew that pink slip, but I'm not quite sure what happened, because I know we remained friends after that.

Anyway, I started taking record engineering classes at Golden West College, and I enrolled in Cal State Dominguez Hill University. I took psychology (which was an awesome class), then the basic requirements, you know like Math, English, Physics, and of course "Music" which kind of sucked because you had to study things like "Music Appreciation" which meant you had to be able to recognize a Sonata Allegro when you heard one... (Just what I always wanted to do) what for, I don't know. I remember my professor asking me; "why do you want a Music Major?" I said, jokingly, so I can be a "rock star", he basically said... get out of my class if you're serious. Anyway I stuck it out at college for a year and half, actually because I loved the croutons on the salads they had in the cafeteria. (Now you know that must be true, I mean why would I make up something like that... (Why do I even remember that?) Those croutons were awesome!

one son... bryton

(This entity, an old spirit with a distinctive mission on this planet, picked us to be his parents) and we had our one and only child. I say this because Bryton's Grandmother, a very God loving and spiritual woman, saw our future son in a dream. Even before she knew me she saw this dark curly headed child, a predestinated child, that would be special his whole life. And that we had to watch him and protect him because he would be very popular starting at a young age, like three years old.  She told us many more things about Bryton that have come to fruition. We believe that Bryton chose us (if there is such a thing) to be his parents because he knew we would put nothing before him.
